Turquoise-blue glazed faience composition shabti for the priest of the second cachette at Deir el Bahri, Nesi-per-Nub, with details in black, depicted mummiform with arms crossed at the chest, centrally adorned with a Ib-heart amulet, wearing a striated tripartite wig, a seed-bag at the back, holding a hoe in each hand, with two vertical columns of hieroglyphs from the Book of the Dead, reading “It is the shabti who says, I will transform into a phoenix…(R) the Osiris, god’s father of Amun, Nes-per-nub".
In this context, the Ib-heart amulet is used to protect the owner's heart and organs.
