Disk-shaped pendants, each decorated with sets of trefoil-beaded granules with a centered garnet in a box setting with beaded edges, bordered by filigree beaded wire and twisted wire, a ribbed suspension loop above for suspension.
Mounted as a necklace composed of Egyptian turquoise faience tubular and spherical beads, circa 1550-300 B.C., two Greek gold tubular beads and two Greek spherical beads. The necklace terminating on both ends by Victorian gold clasps and extension.
Size is for the complete length of the necklace including extension at the back.
Formerly in the Dr. & Mrs. Goddard DuBois Collection, excavated in Egypt between 1900-1907. The DuBois collection was loaned to the Metropolitan Museum of Art in the 1920s-1940s, then to the Boston Museum of Fine Arts where it was exhibited for another 20 years until its final exhibition at the San Diego Museum. Several works from their collection remain at the Met Museum, the MFA, and the Museum of Man.
