Cast in blue frit, also known as 'Egyptian blue', two-tone blue hybrid-form protective amulet in the form of a ram-headed winged dwarf, with incised details on the wig and wings. The belly button, horns, mouth and phallus in dark blue. A suspension loop at the back. Mounted
Very few amulets were cast out of frit in comparison to faience. Its use was an improved technique to imitate glass production. Unlike faience, frit remained an ancient Egypt tradition until the start of the Roma period while faience was exported across the ancient world.
cf. Andrews, C.; Amulets of Ancient Egypt, p. 31, no. 27 a-d, for ram headed amulets, and, p. 37, no. 33c, for a parallel cast in faience.
