Lapis lazuli naturalistic scarab with the head of a falcon, the base in the shape of the beetle's belly with legs.
Naturalistic scarabs were only produced in a short time period and were intended solely for use on the mummy, as part of the set of amulets that were placed onto the mummy or between the bindings. A sub-type of naturalistic scarab made in the Late Period has the head of a falcon instead of a beetle.
cf. Ben-Tor, D.; The Scarab: A Reflection of Ancient Egypt, p. 78, no. 16, for a close parallel.
