Blue glazed faience composition funerary amulet of the goddess Nephthys, depicted wearing her typical headdress which translates to her name, standing on an integral base with her left leg forward and her arms at her sides, pierced through the back-pillar at her waist for suspension.
Her headdress comprises two hieroglyphs nbt (lady or mistress) and ḥwt (house, building or temple) which form the abbreviation for Nephthys “Lady of the House".
Nephthys, mother to Anubis, sister of Osiris, Isis and Seth. She is closely associated with the mourning of the deceased and protectress in the afterlife. She is frequently depicted in funerary context, most notably canopic jars.
