A naturalistically carved fine Egyptian-blue centerpiece of a winged scarab, with the pronotum and elytron separators decorated in gold foil, along with traces to the parameter and head of the beetle. The base with six symmetrical drill-holes for attachment.
Like faience, Egyptian-blue was a man-made material created from ground minerals and fired at approximately 1000°. Its deep blue color repeats itself at the core. Egyptian-blue is significantly rarer than faience.
