Carved in sunk relief, to the left the vulture goddess Nekhbet is depicted wearing the Atef crown with the 'was' sceptre across her body. Her name is carved above her in hieroglyphs and before her is the protective 'Shen' sign, below is the 'neb' sign and part of a lily, a writing of Upper Egypt, naming Nekhbet as 'Mistress of Upper Egypt'. Facing her is Horus shown as a falcon on top of a serekh (a rectangular enclosure representing the niched or gated facade of a palace and an alternative to the cartouche to set apart a royal name) with the sun disc behind wrapped around with the protective cobra and ankh signs. Inside the serekh is part of the Horus name, 'Mighty Bull'. The scale indicates this is from a temple, maybe part of a lintel, perhaps from Thebes. The use of the Lily naming Nekhbet as 'Mistress of Upper Egypt' does not occur before the 20th Dynasty.
